Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin

Event Description

At the crossroads of a new movement in Irish music, NOTIFY breathes new life into their music, with “a musical tapestry that ranges from soft melodies to crashing crescendos”.

NOTIFY are an Irish based instrumental ensemble featuring well-known concertina player Pádraig Rynne, Cillian King on guitars & concertina, Eoin Walsh on electric bass, Davie Ryan on drums and Cormac McCarthy on piano and rhodes.

The band delivers an evocative repertoire of original melody compositions, produced with sensitive electronic overlays and inventive arrangements that are “cinematic in scope” (New York Echo).

NOTIFY seamlessly fuses a deep knowledge and respect for musical tradition with forward thinking innovation in a tasteful way that connects with audiences worldwide. The formation of musicians from backgrounds in Jazz, Traditional Irish, Electronic, Pop and Funk music has naturally established a system of balance that instantly draws listeners to the music.

NOTIFY released their debut album in late 2013. This self titled album debuted at no 20 in the iTunes World music charts upon its release. The album was well received by the media and press worldwide and resulted in a number of high profile TV and radio performances.

In 2015, NOTIFY signed with world famous American Jazz label Ropeadope. InConcept, the second full length album from the band, was released on 8th April 2016. It premiered at the no. 1 spot in the iTunes Jazz charts and at no. 9 in the mainstream iTunes charts.

Recent collaborations have seen the band working with John Spillane, Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh and Pauline Scanlon. 2017 will see the band continuing to tour throughout Europe and begin work on a new album due for release in early 2018.

Mark Lettieri is a guitarist, composer and producer based in Fort Worth, TX. Proficient in a multitude of styles, he records and performs in virtually every genre of popular music with both independent and major-label artists. He also composes and produces original instrumental music under his own name.

Born in the San Francisco Bay Area, Lettieri came to Texas via Texas Christian University (TCU), studying advertising and public relations, and competing in track and field. A passionate guitarist since middle school, he began his music career in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area upon graduating from TCU.

Playing in the vibrant Metroplex gospel and R&B scene led Lettieri to join jazz/world group Snarky Puppy in 2008. The two-time GRAMMY Award-winning band tours and records constantly, having performed on all continents except Antarctica.

Aside from Snarky Puppy, Lettieri has spent time on the road with neo-soul icon Erykah Badu, gospel singer/actress Tamela Mann, and American Idol: Season 11 winner Phillip Phillips. He’s also performed with a myriad of other artists, including Anthony Evans, Chrisette Michele, Myron Butler, N’dambi, Bilal, and even Pat Boone.

An in-demand session guitarist, recent work includes David Crosby, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Adam Levine, Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, Lalah Hathaway, Eric Roberson, Lecrae, Lupe Fiasco, Keyshia Cole, Xzibit, as well as numerous radio and television jingles. Lettieri is also a member of Team SKP, a production collective led by GRAMMY Award-winning producer Symbolyc One (Kanye West, Beyonce).
